Bringing the sights and sounds of Houston's symphony, these family-friendly concerts introduce rising guest artists to Houston audiences while delighting with classic compositions.

David Danzmayr, conductor
William VerMeulen, horn

J. LÓPEZ  Fiesta!
MOZART  Horn Concerto No. 2
DVORÁK  Symphony No. 8

Up-and-coming Austrian conductor David Danzmayr leads a program featuring the Houston Symphony’s new Composer-in-Residence: Jimmy López. With movements like “Trance” and “Techno,” López’ Fiesta! is a high-energy orchestral showpiece full of virtuoso rhythms. Houston Symphony Principal Horn William VerMeulen also plays Mozart’s sunny Horn Concerto No. 2, and the program concludes with the enchanting melodies of Dvorák’s Symphony No. 8.

Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 AM-1:00 PM.
