Aperio returns to the stage at Miller Outdoor Theatre to present a stylish crossover program featuring a blend of popular and classical orchestral favorites perfect for a summer evening.
Burt Bachrach’s most beloved melodies are paired with pop-inspired and grooving music by Michael Torke. Mexican composer Arturo Marquez’s thrilling and rhythmically driven music complements the world premiere of a double concerto by American composer Kevin Day.
Soloists include Aperio’s own Ernesto Vega (clarinet) along with guest soloists Sasha Callahan (violin), and Leo Eguchi (cello).
Maestro Marlon Chen (Manila Symphony) conducts this program that showcases the versatility of Aperio’s orchestral ensemble.
Aperio, Music of the Americas is a Houston-based ensemble dedicated to presenting unique chamber music in performances that showcase contemporary composers from the Americas.
