LATIN BEATS WITH
THE APOLLO CHAMBER PLAYERS

Latin Beats With Apollo Chamber Players explores the breathtaking sounds and beats of Brazil and Cuba through multicultural new music, dance, and artwork.

A dynamic conclusion to Apollo’s Festival 20×2020, this program intersects music, dance, and fine art!

Featuring composers Leo Brouwer and Heitor Villa-Lobos, “Latin Beats” also boasts a new dance set titled “From Brazil to Cuba” by choreographer Marlana Doyle that highlights Houston Ballet rising Stars Monica Gomez and Estheysis Menendez, and dancers from METdance.

A newly commissioned canvas by Brazilian-born artist Tony Paraná provides a stunning backdrop to this multicultural performance.

With a passion for contemporary music, the mission of the Apollo Chamber Players is to connect communities and cultures through globally inspired music.
