Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City, Miranda started his career at only 19 years old, before being scooped up by famed Salsa performer, composer, and producer Larry Harlow. After years of successful collaboration, now The Pretty Boy of Salsa has over 20 albums to his name and has toured the world over fronting his own band.

Caliente, a DownBeat Award Winner, and Houston Press Best Latin Band Award Winner is the nationally acclaimed repertoire ensemble for Diaz Music Institute. Led by Grammy Nominated Music Educator, Jose Antonio Diaz, Caliente is the only youth group to have received the prestigious Houston Press Award.
Caliente has appeared with some of the music industry’s biggest stars such as Eddie Palmieri, Johnny Pacheco, Bobby Valentin, Aldaberto Santiago, Larry Harlow, Jimmy Bosch, Pete Escovedo, Poncho Sanchez, Brian Lynch, David Sanchez, and many more.

This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 AM-1:00 PM. If tickets remain at 1:00 PM, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets.
