In Sounds and Stories from Space, children and families, WindSync celebrates storytelling with two fully staged musical stories. Young listeners will meet the musicians of WindSync and their instruments–the flute, the oboe, the clarinet, the French horn, and the bassoon–before seeing them perform as soundtrack, narrators, and characters!
First up is Sergei Prokofiev’s classic Peter and the Wolf. This signature performance brings classical music to life with an unforgettable cast of characters. Peter, the wolf, and their friends the duck, the cat, and the little bird will make a live appearance!
The second half of the program blasts off for a morning in Space City. Listeners will warm up their imaginations with a musical trip to the moon before WindSync performs Space Junk by Austin composer and percussionist Ivan Trevino. This new story for 2026 recounts the adventure of a little star–and what happens when the stars around her have made a mess! The audience gets to make music too, singing and clapping along as the world of the little star inspires us all to create beautiful things.
WindSync’s mission is to enrich the lives of children, families, and members of the community through innovative, interactive chamber music concerts and educational programs.
