Featuring thrilling world premieres, internationally celebrated choreography, and visually stunning performances, this program promises to captivate audiences from the very first moment.
UNITE Brings two of Houston’s most exciting dance companies together – Houston Contemporary Dance and Vitacca Ballet – for one incredible performance under the stars! This evening includes guest performances by Houston Contemporary 2 and Vitacca Ballet Studio Company.
HCDC will present a forthcoming work Octane by Emmy Award Winner and choreographer Natasha Adorlee and a Houston World Premiere of Sigra Sigra by acclaimed international choreographer,Yue Yin.
Vitacca Ballet will present Ward No. 6 choreographed by Kristina Paulin, Deputy Artistic Director of the Staatsballett Karlsruhe, and presented in gracious collaboration with the Skyler Campbell Dance Collective. Plus, experience a world premiere by Helene Simoneau, acclaimed Guggenheim Fellow and visionary contemporary choreographer.
Houston Contemporary 2 will present a work by Houston native Morgan Manning and Vitacca Ballet Studio Company will present a work by Ilya Kozadayev.

HCDC regularly premieres new work in Houston before it tours elsewhere, and commissions choreographers recognized at the highest levels of the dance world.
Who is Vitacca Ballet? Vitacca Ballet is a Houston-based contemporary ballet company founded and led by Artistic Director Kelly Ann Vitacca. The company creates original work that is designed to be approachable and entertaining for audiences who may be new to ballet. Vitacca performs locally and tours nationally.
Do I need to know anything about dance to enjoy this show? No prior knowledge of dance is needed. Both HCDC and Vitacca Ballet create work that is meant to be felt and experienced rather than analyzed. The program includes pieces about everyday themes — connection, identity, hope, and modern dating — told through movement.

Is there a ticket or admission fee? No. Miller Outdoor Theatre offers free admission to all performances. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the show in a casual, open-air setting.

This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) from our website one day prior to the performance starting at 10:00 AM through noon the day of the show, or until tickets run out. We always reserve plenty of tickets available for in-person pick up at the box office, which opens an hour before the show starts. As always, open seating on the hill. Our shows go on rain or shine!
