Full Gallop presents the 2nd Annual Louisiana in Texas, which celebrates the diverse cultural and musical history of the border between Louisiana and Texas.
This year will feature a special lineup of all zydeco music to celebrate the 100th birthday of the late Clifton Chenier, the “King of Zydeco.” The show will be headlined by none other than Chenier’s son and former bandmate, a legend in his own right, Grammy-nominated CJ Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band.
Clifton Chenier was a Grammy-winning pioneer of zydeco music and held residences in both Texas and Louisiana. He passed in 1987, and since then, his son CJ has carried on his legacy, becoming the “Crown Prince of Zydeco.” CJ has appeared on The Daily Show, CNN, and was featured on VH1 and in Entertainment Weekly. He has exhibited his musicianship at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Chicago Blues Festival, and SXSW. Louisiana in Texas is an annual show that aims to promote the heritage of Louisiana and its place in Texas music history.
This 2nd Annual show is a guaranteed good time for the whole family!
Full Gallop works to bridge cultures and connect communities through entertaining and educational public programming. Full Gallop is celebrating 10 years in 2025.
