Nominated for 7 Academy Awards, Black Panther is the first superhero film to receive a Best Picture nomination, and the first film in the Marvel Comics Universe to win an Academy Award. Praised for its acting, direction, screenplay, costume design, soundtrack, and its cultural significance, it was named one of the Top 10 films of 2018 by both the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute.
